The Opportunity
The Technical Delivery Manager utilises a strong knowledge of industry standards for project management within Dechra Group Digital & IT Strategy to lead IT change through the full project lifecycle. They will execute various IT projects within the D&T Portfolio; leading and operating in cross‑functional, inter‑company and country teams. They will operate within the guidelines of the PMO methodology and work with colleagues and peers to help expand the knowledge of effective project management across D&T.
Role Responsibility
* Work with D&T Workstream Leads and their teams to create and manage suitable plans for the delivery of their Programmes and Projects.
* Assist Workstream Leads with the preparation and delivery of materials in support of regular MPR (Monthly Performance Review) and QBR (Quarterly Business Review) meetings.
* Work with Finance to ensure Project Controls are fully aligned.
* Track deliverables and benefit realisation.
* Apply appropriate tools and techniques to plan projects effectively.
* Ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and standards.
* Define project timelines, allocate resources, and drive progress of critical tasks.
* Help project team members progress through the delivery lifecycle from inception, design, build, testing, delivery and adoption.
* Lead processes for identification of project issues and risks and associated resolutions.
* Manage risk and issue tracking processes.
* Monitor and manage project objectives, scope & requirements.
* Work on multiple projects within the company’s project portfolio simultaneously.
* Foster productive partnerships with customers, stakeholders and sponsors.
* Outline, define and initiate projects either working alone or with business stakeholders.
* Generate project reports and escalated relevant risks and issues in a timely manner.
* Responsible for personal health and safety.
The Candidate
* Self‑starter, determined, culturally astute, entrepreneurial and results driven.
* Strong business acumen with broad understanding of core business processes and application of associated technical solutions.
* Excellent communication skills; ability to articulate complex ideas and inspire creative thinking, risk taking and innovation.
* Highly skilled at problem solving.
* Strong understanding of tech solutions and architecture.
* Thorough understanding of project management fundamentals.
* Proven experience of developing detailed plans, and ensuring teams deliver against those plans by implementing formal governance.
* Effective stakeholder, leadership, organisational and time‑management skills.
* High level of PC and desktop software literacy with Microsoft products.
* Experience in a range of delivery lifecycles – waterfall, iterative, Agile, hybrid etc.
* Experience of working in an IT change environment and working on large‑scale IT initiatives.
* Broad business understanding and experience of working in a global IT environment.
* Wide ranging IT appreciation and knowledge of technology trends.
* Experience of cross‑cultural working and engagement of diverse team.
* Previous experience in a pharma or other compliance working environment.
* Experience of hands‑on delivery of at least 2 full lifecycle tech projects.
* Experience of project managing teams of tech delivery (functional or technical) of +20 people for a full lifecycle implementation.
* Experience of using and (ideally) developing methods and processes to ensure structured delivery of IT project in a regulated (ideally GxP/CSV) environment, e.g. using stage gates, quality controls, code reviews, planning and delivering testing.
* Relevant academic and vocational qualifications such as Prince 2/PMP desirable.

* Occasional global travel may be required with this role.
* This role is based in Northwich / hybrid.
