We’re looking for a Senior Advisor to join our Producer Responsibility team to help deliver the Government’s Resources and Waste Strategy.
You’ll work with Environment Agency colleagues, Defra, UK devolved administrations, and Industry to deliver significant changes as we reform legislation. You can make a difference.
You’ll need to be adaptable, self-motivated, and able to translate policy into reality.
You’ll be involved in all aspects of our work, especially the following:
1. Working closely with stakeholders across government, industry, and the Environment Agency to influence and implement legislation for workstreams including Packaging and Deposit Return Scheme, with support to other workstreams as needed.
2. Providing technical advice within the Environment Agency and to industry.
3. Driving forward reforms to waste management, working to change the way waste is managed in England, collaborating with like-minded individuals to achieve common goals. This may include developing digital systems for waste management or delving into policy development.
We’re a dispersed team, working with a wide range of technical and project teams across the country. We use smart tools to stay connected and reduce travel, though some travel and overnight stays may be required.
The team
You’ll join our Producer Responsibility Team, which leads waste regulation reform to ensure the government’s ambitions to conserve resources by minimizing waste are achieved.

The role is based at our EA Office, with flexible/hybrid working arrangements. Some travel and overnight stays may be required.
