The role:
As a Neighbourhood Housing Officer, you will deliver a high-quality, customer-focused housing management service across a defined patch within Northamptonshire, with regular presence required in Wellingborough.
This is a tenancy-facing, community-based role where you will take ownership of your patch, building positive relationships with residents while ensuring neighbourhood standards are maintained.
Hybrid working is available, balancing home working with on-site visits and community engagement.
Key responsibilities of a Neighbourhood Housing Officer:
1. Managing a portfolio of general needs tenancies
2. Supporting residents to sustain their tenancies
3. Conducting tenancy visits and neighbourhood inspections
4. Addressing low-level anti-social behaviour and tenancy breaches
5. Working collaboratively with income teams around arrears management
6. Coordinating with internal teams and external partner agencies
7. Ensuring compliance with housing policies and relevant legislation
8. Delivering a visible, responsive housing management service
About you:
9. Experience in a Housing Officer or generic housing management role
10. Strong understanding of tenancy and housing legislation
11. Ability to manage a varied caseload independently
12. Excellent communication and customer service skills
13. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
14. Proactive, organised, and community-focused approach
