Teaching Assistant – Specialist Primary Setting (Winchester)
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist primary school in Winchester. This role is open to individuals from a range of relevant backgrounds, including SEN, support work, care, healthcare, childcare or education.
About the Role
You will support primary-aged pupils with complex needs, including physical disabilities, learning difficulties and medical requirements. The role combines classroom support with elements of care, helping pupils access learning, communicate and develop independence.
Key Responsibilities
* Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups
* Assist with tailored learning activities
* Provide personal care and mobility support where needed
* Work closely with teachers and other professionals
* Promote independence, communication and wellbeing
* Help maintain a safe and inclusive environment
Requirements
* Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals (any setting)
* Backgrounds in care, support work, healthcare or education welcomed
* Patient, adaptable and team-focused approach
* Willingness to support both learning and care needs
* Full-time availability
* Enhanced DBS required
