You will provide and maintain continuity of service for all components of the Airport passenger processing system and resolve any technical issues, including more complex issues requiring specialist knowledge, that may occur. Airport Engineer Key Responsibilities: Install, troubleshoot, and repair desktops, laptops, and peripherals. Supply and replace IT consumables, such as paper and ink toner when required Perform some Smart Hands support for networking hardware. Troubleshoot within Windows / iOS / Android OS support, software installations, and security updates. Manage basic Active Directory tasks Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues (LAN, WAN, VPN, Wi-Fi). Consistently provide updates to the ESP Service Desk and end users on all live incidents and service requests Supply and replace IT consumables, such as paper and ink toner when required Carry out regular “floor-walking” and pro-active line of sight checks/ routine preventive maintenance to identify, log and resolve any issues before they are raised as incidents by customers What You Need: Experience: At least 2 years’ experience in an IT support role Languages: Proficiency in English and the relevant local language (B2 level or higher in German, as per CEFR ) essential, to ensure effective communication with users and stakeholders. Technical Skills: Windows OS, networking basics, server hardware and configurations and Active Directory. Certifications: CompTIA A (or willingness to obtain), ITIL knowledge is a plus. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities. 5 years of German working history, which can be referenced for airside clearance checks Work Details: Schedule: Rotational shift, commitment of 04:00 - 12:30 / 10:30 - 19:00 On Call availability Location: Airport-based Onsite Cologne Airport Salary & Benefits: We offer a competitive range based on suitability or experience plus 25 days annual leave, sick leave.
