An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, innovative candidate who is ready to make an impact on Procurement within our leading international technological University.


Role Overview

This role is for a Senior Procurement/Policy Specialist sitting within the University's centralised procurement team within finance, reporting to the Head of Procurement and supporting the wider team. You will play a key role in the delivery of the procurement strategy across the University and ensuring that the University's procurement activity achieves value for money and is compliant with public sector procurement regulations.


Key Responsibilities

* Support the cyber improvement programme by embedding cyber security requirements into procurement processes and developing robust supplier risk assessments.
* Strategic sourcing and commercial management of designated goods, services and works related commodities, maximising cost efficiencies through best procurement practice.
* Lead policy development, value for money against business need, risk reduction and delivery of sustainable procurement outcomes across the assigned portfolio.


Qualifications and Experience

* Relevant degree or equivalent, with strong experience in strategic procurement and policy development.
* Sound knowledge of legislation, contract law and a proven record of delivering commercially sound contracts.
* Experience working within a strategic procurement environment, with a focus on supplier risk and compliance.

Applicants should have a relevant degree or equivalent. You should have sound experience in both strategic procurement environment and policy development. As well as strong working knowledge of legislation and contract law and a proven record of accomplishment in delivering robust commercially sound contracts.
