Job Description:
About the Company
Mallet London is a premium footwear and lifestyle brand founded in London in 2015. We’ve grown rapidly with a strong international presence across luxury wholesale and direct to consumer channels. Our design-led approach and distinctive product offer have earned us a loyal following and strong retail partnerships globally.
About the Role
We're looking for a Junior Footwear Designer to join our London based design team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. This is a hands-on, creative role focused primarily on the Women’s collection, including sneakers, boots and formals with additional support across the Men’s sneaker range.
Responsibilities
* Support the design and development of two seasonal Women’s collections per year, covering sneakers, formals and boots.
* Assist in designing and developing Men’s sneakers, working closely with the Head of Design.
* Conduct trend, colour, and material research to inform seasonal concepts and new product ideas.
* Create detailed design packs including sketches, CADs, specs and material direction.
* Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers through the development process, ensuring products are delivered to brief and to brand standard.
* Support fit sessions, sample reviews and sign-offs.
* Work cross-functionally with internal teams including product development, wholesale and e-commerce to ensure alignment across the business.
Qualifications
* Ideally 2+ year of experience in a footwear design role (internship or full-time).
Required Skills
* Strong portfolio showing Women’s sneaker and/or fashion footwear designs, including sketch work and final concepts.
* Confident in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; 3D design software is a plus but not required.
* Good understanding of materials, constructions, and sneaker silhouettes.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects to tight deadlines.
* Positive, collaborative and proactive with a genuine passion for footwear and fashion.
Pay range and compensation package
* Hybrid working: 2–3 days per week in our central London HQ
* An opportunity to gain experience across both Women’s and Men’s collections within a growing design-led brand
* Staff Discount and Seasonal Footwear allowance
