1st Staff Limited is a leading nationwide Alternative Provision (AP) provider. We specialise in supporting some of the UK’s most vulnerable young people, aged 4-25, through delivering bespoke educational and holistic therapeutic support.
The Role
We are seeking dedicated 1:1 Tutors, in the Colchester area, to support young people who are currently unable to access mainstream education. Our tutors support SEN and SEMH learners, and young people at risk of permanent exclusions.
Your role will be to deliver engaging, personalised learning sessions on a one-to-one basis to students. This is an incredibly rewarding role for someone who is patient, caring, and able to build strong, positive relationships with young people.
Experience as a Teacher, Teaching Assistant, Tutor, or Mentor is highly desirable.

Location: Face to face in a Child’s home, local library, or community centre

Role: 1:1 Tutor

Hours: Part-time or full-time
*
Most referrals are 10–15 hours per week
*
Full-time tutors typically support multiple students
*
Start Date: ASAP

Subjects: English and Maths
Experience Required
* Experience working with children or young people with SEN / SEMH needs
* Ability to plan and deliver engaging, structured lessons
