An opportunity has arisen for a Design Engineer to join the Jaguar TCS Racing department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment.
About the role
Working within the Design Group to support the mainly mechanical, but with some composite design requirements, for the on-going development of our race and test hardware, processes and procedures. With the sole aim of supporting the delivery of a world-class product to our race programs.
What you will do
* Collaborate with Senior and Lead Engineers on mechanical and composite design schemes which respect structural requirements, packaging, regulations and manufacturing techniques
* Generate comprehensive engineering documentation, including bill of materials BOM, assembly instructions, and testing procedures.
* Assist in the fabrication, assembly and testing of prototypes or scaled models to evaluate mechanical or composite designs.
* Contribute to design reviews and provide technical support for product validation activities.
* Calculation work and production of system documentation.
* Driving continuous improvement and promotion of autonomous creativity.
* Travel to events or external companies as required in support of our program.
About you
* An understanding of composites and mechanical engineering.
* Experience or an interest bias towards mechanical design stream is advantageous but not required for this role. A relevant degree in or equivalent qualification
* Previous design or work experience in motorsport application is advantageous.
* An understanding of basic stress calculations and the ability to interpret stress analysis results.
* CAD skills. Experience of NX is advantageous.
* Self-motivation and the ability to complete tasks with minimal guidance, and to work under pressure to meet critical deadlines.
* A creative and proactive approach to problem-solving, along with good attention to detail.
* A friendly, collaborative outlook, with good communication and organisation skills.
