We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded secondary school in the Camden area for a Science Technician to join their dynamic science department on a part-time basis (3 days per week). Position Details: Job Title: Science Technician Location: Camden, London Start Date: Mid-November 2025 Working Days: 3 days per week (specific days negotiable) Contract Type: Ongoing (with potential for extension) Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience Key Responsibilities: * Preparing, setting up, and distributing equipment and materials for science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics * Supporting teaching staff with practical lessons and demonstrations * Ensuring laboratories and prep rooms are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and safety * Managing stock levels and placing orders for equipment and chemicals when required * Assisting with the safe disposal of waste materials and adherence to health & safety regulations (COSHH, CLEAPSS guidelines) * Maintenance and calibration of scientific apparatus * Supporting students and staff during practical activities where appropriate Candidate Requirements: * Previous experience working as a Science Technician in a school or laboratory environment * Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures related to science equipment and chemicals * A science-related qualification (A-levels or degree) is advantageous * Good organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently * An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to undergo a DBS check This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about science education and supporting student learning through hands-on practical experience
