Are you a hands-on Design Engineer who loves seeing your ideas go from a blank screen to fully installed kit on site?
This is a chance to step into a Lead role with a growing, family-run engineering business taking full ownership of bespoke projects from “back-of-a-napkin” spec through to installation and customer sign-off.
The opportunity
You’ll join a small, close-knit design team working on bespoke mechanical solutions for a wide range of industries. No two projects are the same, one week you’re modelling a new system in Inventor, the next you’re on site making sure everything fits and functions as it should.
As Senior Design Engineer, you will:

Own projects from cradle to grave – concept, detailed design, approvals and through to installation
*
Liaise directly with customers to understand requirements and turn them into practical, safe, value-adding designs
*
Produce 3D designs and drawings using Autodesk Inventor (or similar 3D CAD)
*
Oversee and review designs from two other Design Engineers, providing support, mentoring and final approval before fabrication
*
Work closely with the shop floor and project teams to make sure designs are buildable and installation runs smoothly
About you
You’re likely a Senior / Lead Design Engineer who enjoys being both on the tools (CAD) and at the heart of projects:

Strong background in mechanical design engineering
*
Proficient in Autodesk Inventor or a comparable 3D CAD package
*
Comfortable managing your own workload and juggling multiple projects
*
Able to review and sign off others’ work, spotting issues before they hit the workshop
*
Ambitious, practical and keen to grow with the business as the team expands
