Shepherd Neame is excited to be recruiting for an Apprentice Food and Beverage Team Member to join us.

After a period of closure for redevelopment, the pub is set to reopen in early September. We're looking for the right person to join us ahead of this and help bring our exciting reopening to life. The White Horse & Bower is a friendly local in the heart of London and close to the Houses of Parliament in Westminster. It is a short walk from Victoria Station, St James' Park and London’s famous Tate Britain so we have a very diverse customer base and a warm welcome together with great food and drink is on offer to all when you arrive.

As part of the apprenticeship journey, Level 2 Food & Beverage Team Member apprentices will attend workshops, meet with their tutor, learn new skills and knowledge via their online portfolio and be supported by their manager and Apprenticeship Lead.

Specialist areas in hospitality include food and beverage service, serving alcoholic beverages, barista, food preparation, housekeeping, concierge and guest services, reception, reservations and conference and banqueting. The most important part of the role is developing fantastic hospitality skills and knowledge such as recognising customer needs, knowing how to match them to the products and services of the business and working as part of a team to ensure that every customer, whether they are eating in a restaurant, drinking cocktails in a bar, ordering room service in a hotel or attending a business conference, feels welcomed and looked after. Apprentices will have a vocational trainer assigned to them and will meet with their manager for regular progress reviews.

What do we need from you?

27. The course Length is 8 - 12 months, plus up to 3 months for End Point Assessment
28. Bring your passion and love for customer service
29. You will need to attend training at the Hospitality Academy for your workshops

Am I Eligible? If you can answer yes to the below you are eligible!

30. Starting a career in hospitality or up skilling yourself at entry level positions in the work place
31. You have to be aged 16 years or over

What are my next steps once I complete my apprenticeship?

Once you have successfully completed this level 2 apprenticeship, this may progress into a supervisor or team leader role. Hospitality Supervisor Level 3 would be the most suitable apprenticeship course progression alongside our internal career pathway program.
