Overview
Quality Engineer – Near Stourbridge, West Midlands. Salary to c£39k, dependent on experience, plus benefits. Our client has been established for more than 70 years and are internationally renowned leaders in the development and manufacture of precision stamping and pressing applications for an impressive range of clients worldwide. They are seeking to recruit an experienced Quality Engineer to complement their professional Quality Division.
Based near Stourbridge, reporting to the Quality Manager, and operating in an ISO9001, ISO13485, ISO14001 and IATF16949 accredited environment, the successful candidate will lead all aspects of the Quality Engineering function (internal and external) and take responsibility for APQP, resolution of internal concerns, customer complaint management and supplier quality.
Responsibilities
* Leading all aspects of the Quality Engineering function (internal and external) and taking responsibility for APQP, resolution of internal concerns, customer complaint management and supplier quality.
* Supporting internal manufacturing with QC tools, techniques, documentation, training and expertise while ensuring adherence to internal, third party and customer quality standards.
* Managing the batch release process.
* Leading the APQP / PPAP process.
* Auditing suppliers for compliance based on business needs and developing improvement plans with suppliers.
* Reviewing and improving new and existing suppliers in line with company procedures and requirements.
* Managing and approving supplier PPAP and supplier changes.
* Reviewing supplier non-conformances and working with suppliers to close out issues (8D, 5 Why).
* Liaising with customers regarding the supply of defective material.
* Undertaking all aspects of customer concern / complaint management and leading improvement/corrective action processes in response to customer concerns.
* Reviewing customer non-conformances and working with customers to close out issues (8D, 5 Why).
* Maintaining and developing constructive relationships with internal and external customers, Quality and Supply Chain Managers, PVV Metrology Engineers, manufacturing teams, suppliers and engineering divisions.
Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, the successful candidate will be qualified to HND level or above in a relevant manufacturing or engineering discipline and be a Chartered Institute member.
Experience of IATF16949 is essential, with IATF16949 auditing experience and ISO13485 experience proving distinctly advantageous.
You will demonstrate high-volume batch manufacturing experience, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, excellent communication skills at all levels, solid problem-solving skills, and 8D root cause analysis experience gained in a similarly dynamic manufacturing environment.
