We are currently working with Gloucestershire County Council who are looking to recruit a Senior Digital Communications Officer to join their team.
Job: Senior Digital Communications Officer
Duration: Currently signed off until end of March 2026
Rate: Up to per hour via Umbrella Company, Inside IR35
Hours: 3 days per week
Site presence: Hybrid – The successful applicant will be expected to be in the office or out filming at least 50% of their working week with the other 50% at home
Responsibilities
1. Plan, generate and deliver well timed digital content, that is right for the chosen audience(s)
2. Provide professional, strategic advice to support planning and delivery of key projects
3. Generate high quality photography and video content that is engaging and clearly and concisely delivers our key messages
4. Develop and deliver high-level campaign strategies and plans that help deliver on the council’s strategic objectives
5. Make the most of national campaigns and local events/activities to generate content
6. Provide strategic advice and guidance to directors and senior councillors on communications matters. Manage a range of projects at the same time, working to deadlines and delivering on agreed objectives
7. Act as a mentor and supervise other members of the team, ensuring that when project support is provided junior officers are developed in all communications disciplines
Experience/Requirements
8. Proven track record in leading on customer communications specifically digital, media, marketing and internal communications
9. Proven track record in successful campaign/project management
10. Proven track record of effective digital content generation including videography
11. Experience of finding positive solutions to complex customer communications challenges
12. Experience of working in a political environment including briefing elected members
