Chemical Engineer - Process Safety Development Role

This role is an excellent opportunity for someone at any stage of their chemical/process engineering journey who wants to build a career in Process Safety. Whether you're coming from an industrial placement, a graduate-level background, or a role in a process-led environment, full training and support are provided.
You'll work closely with the SHE Manager and gain hands-on experience across a wide range of Safety, Health and Environment and Process Safety activities within a high-hazard manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the development and maintenance of SHE systems
Assisting with compliance activities including COMAH, DSEAR and ATEX
Helping coordinate permit-to-work and process isolation systems
Contributing to risk assessments, incident investigations and audits
Assisting with Management of Change (MoC) reviews
Maintaining process safety indicators and documentation
Supporting safety training and continuous improvement activities
We welcome applications from people who have:
A degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related subject
Experience or exposure to a process-led environment such as chemicals, food and drink, brewing, plastics, packaging, FMCG or similar (this can include university projects, internships, placements or early career roles)
A strong interest in process safety, risk management and how processes behave
Good documentation and organisational skills
NEBOSH General Certificate is helpful but training can be supported
