Aspire People is seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Coalville, Leicestershire. This role involves working with children who have profound special educational needs (SEN) and will require you to provide both academic support and personal care. Your work will be essential in helping students access learning and supporting their overall development and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing 1:1 and small group support for students with profound SEN
Assisting with personal care tasks, including toileting, feeding, and mobility support
Helping students engage with the curriculum through tailored support and interventions
Supporting students' social and emotional development, encouraging positive behavior
Collaborating with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning strategies
Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Providing day-to-day care and ensuring the safety and comfort of the students
What We Are Looking For:
Proven experience working with children with profound SEN (essential)
Experience with personal care for students with complex needs (essential)
Understanding of a range of SEN, including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and developmental delay
A patient, empathetic, and caring approach to supporting students
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to form positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
A proactive, flexible, and reliable attitude
Ideally, a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
