Thepost holder has an essential role in the recruitment and administrative supportof Junior Medical staff who work at the Trust. This includes the coordinationof lead employer doctors, the recruitment and selection to trust employedjunior medical staff and to vacant lead employer posts, calculation of salary, induction,terms and conditions of service and the organisation of locum doctors in allspecialties.
Theprovision of a comprehensive, efficient and responsive advice and supportservice to the Clinical Business Units in accordance with appropriate terms andconditions of service and Trust policies and procedures.
He/sheliaises with the Medical Director, Chief Executives Office, Divisional MedicalDirector, Lead Consultants, the Director of Postgraduate Medical and DentalEducation as well as external bodies such as the General Medical Council,Health Education Yorkshire and Humber, Royal Colleges, Immigration and BorderAuthority and Disclosure and Barring Service and BMA.
Thepost holder works within the scope of HR policies and procedures and wider scopeof National legislation relating to general and medical HR issues, whilstoperating on the own initiative and taking advise from the Medical StaffingManager and Senior Medical Staffing Officer when required; work is managedrather than supervised. There are often frequent interruptions during the daywith conflicting and ever-changing priorities.
Main duties of the job
To ensure the delivery of a cost-effective and professionalrecruitment, selection and retention service for Medical Staff in line withTrust Policy, legislative, statutory and NHS Employers mandatory requirements.
To undertake/supervise a range of recruitment dutiesfrom the point of advertising a vacancy to the completion of pre-employmentchecks.
To coordinate the junior doctor rotations in keymonths throughout the year, and identifying gaps and recruiting wherenecessary; liaising with rota coordinators, Consultants and the MedicalEducation centre to ensure doctors are known and appropriate inductions arearranged. To prepare new starter and contract packs and ensuring documentationis kept up to date. Attending induction day to facilitate new starter / payrollarrangements.
Ensure that all contracts of employment and otherdocumentation is prepared complies with and issued in line with nationally settimelines in accordance with NHS terms and conditions of employment. Toapprove, sign and be the first point of contact of enquires about contracts ofemployment. Where issues arise escalate matters accordingly to the SeniorMedical Staffing Officer.
To give advice on immigration requirements, preparenecessary documentation and to apply for Work Permits and authorise payment. Toprovide and relay complex and sensitive information to staff from outside theUK, with barriers of understanding to UK immigration requirements.

Qualifications
* Educated to NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in medical staffing
* Level 3 CIPD or willingness to work towards this qualification
Knowledge and Awareness
* Knowledge of a range of administrative and HR procedures
* Knowledge of Recruitment & Selection procedure
* Knowledge of Equal Opportunities and Equality and Diversity (Equality Act 2010)
* Knowledge of wider NHS
