Forestry and Land Scotland is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Health and Safety Advisor to join our dedicated Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HS&W) team. This role supports the delivery of expert guidance across a diverse and evolving workplace, helping to embed a culture where health, safety and wellbeing are central to everything we do.
About the Role
The postholder will provide professional advice and support to staff, managers, contractors, and customers, helping to manage health and safety risks and promote wellbeing. They will contribute to national and regional programmes, support audits and investigations, and help develop policies, training, and systems that improve standards across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver expert health and safety advice across FLS and Scottish Forestry
* Monitor and analyse safety trends, contributing to continuous improvement
* Support serious incident investigations and share learnings
* Promote a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture
* Develop and deliver training and mentoring
* Engage with internal teams and external partners, including industry working groups
* Support health surveillance programmes
About You
The postholder should be an effective communicator with a collaborative approach and a passion for improving workplace wellbeing. They will bring sound judgement, practical problem-solving skills, and the ability to work flexibly across teams and regions.
