Overview
Within the Residential and Business Services department, the Catering team has an exciting opportunity for a motivated, creative, and experienced chef who wishes to develop both their management and food production skills. As well as ‘hands-on’ food production, the Role Holder (RH) will be responsible for the management, delivery, and development of a professional, effective, and efficient catering service within our residential accommodation.
Responsibilities
* Provide hands-on food production and lead the catering operation within residential accommodation, including the management, delivery, and development of a professional, effective, and efficient catering service.
* Manage staff, oversee food production, stock management, HACCP compliance, and practical application of Health and Safety in the workplace.
* Demonstrate strong people management, administrative, and organisational skills; engage positively with customers and motivate staff to deliver excellence in food quality, presentation, and service.
* Experience across a variety of catering operations and volume; ability to coach teams and individuals to perform to high standards.
* Maintain knowledge of HACCP and Health and Safety requirements and apply professional catering qualifications, kitchen skills, presentation, and attention to detail to deliver an excellent customer experience.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a Chef role with management experience.
* Experience in staff management, food production, stock management, HACCP, and Health and Safety.
* Good people management, administrative and organisational skills; ability to engage with customers and motivate staff to deliver excellent food quality, presentation, and service.
* Experience across different catering operations and volume; ability to coach teams and individuals.
* Relevant professional catering qualifications and strong kitchen, and chef skills including presentation and attention to detail.
