JustOT are looking to recruit a band 6 Intermediate Care Occupational Therapist for a locum position with our client in Sheffield.
The pay for this position is £20-£23 per hour, and we are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible for an ongoing duration.
Successful candidates must hold a degree in occupational therapy and be HCPC registered.
JOB PURPOSE
* To manage a caseload of Intermediate Care Unit based patients with complex needs, using specialist skills and evidence based/patient centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
* To supervise/train inexperienced junior staff and rehabilitation assistants working within the service.
* To provide supervision of students on practice placement.
* To participate in the planning, delivery and evaluation of Intermediate Care services within a designated area/team, holding responsibility for defined projects.
* To be an active member of the inter-disciplinary Intermediate Care team in the provision of patient-centred care.
* To develop and provide clinical expertise in a designated specialism and participate in the dissemination of evidence based practice across the service.
MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical
* To accept a clinical responsibility for a designated caseload with complex presentations, prioritising need and taking on a co-ordinating role within the team, and in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.
* To frequently undertake the comprehensive assessment of patients, to formulate individualised management and treatment plans.
* To undertake all appropriate assessments in order to implement effective, timely discharge from the Intermediate Care beds Unit.
* To use clinical reasoning and a wide range of treatment skills and options to formulate a specialised programme of care.
* To undertake training to develop and demonstrate competency to practice as a multi- skilled worker within an interdisciplinary framework.
* To use continuous assessment to evaluate treatment outcomes and adjust treatment plans accordingly, appropriately referring to other agencies to meet patients' needs and promote integration of services.
