Infection Prevention and Control Nurse
We are currently expanding our team at The Cherwell Hospital and have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Nurse to join our team as an Infection Prevention Control (IPC) Lead Nurse for 22.5 hrs a week. This can be considered a full-time position with the remaining 15 hours being assigned to work in your area of clinical expertise; ward, theatre, outpatients, pre operative assessment.
Duties and responsibilities:
* Leading in surveillance, prevention and control of infection in the hospital setting.
* Promoting and maintaining high standards of IPC practices with regard to safety of patients, staff and visitors.
* Demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to provide a high standard of care to all of our patients, with excellent communication skills and an ability to work within a multidisciplinary team, essential whilst having flexibility.
What you’ll bring with you
* Registered Nurse Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
* Current NMC registration.
* Teaching and Assessing qualification or equivalent experience.
* Evidence of recent update of infection prevention and control practice.
* Infection Prevention and Control Course – qualification (Desirable)
Essential Experience
* Recent experience as a registered nurse in acute surgical care environment.
* Previous experience and knowledge of infection prevention and control at ward/departmental level.
Desirable Experience
* Previous experience with surgical site surveillance
* Tissue viability knowledge
* Audit/surveillance experience – including Surgical site infection surveillance service (SSISS)
* Familiarity with the Patient safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) and report writing.
* Policy / procedure writing.
