About The Business Unit
You’ll join a fast‑paced, collaborative environment delivering a wide range of civil engineering and rail infrastructure projects for clients including Network Rail, Local Authorities and environmental partners.
Typical works include:
* Rail platforms, station infrastructure and access improvements
* Underbridges, overbridges and footbridges
* Highways, roads and drainage
* Tunnels, earthworks, embankments and stabilisation
* Flood alleviation, repairs and environmental works
The Role
As a Senior Site Agent, you will lead the successful delivery of multiple rail station and civil engineering projects across Scotland. You’ll ensure your teams understand project requirements, manage resources effectively, and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and delivery partners.
Your leadership will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards—while consistently exceeding client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver projects in line with legislation, contract requirements, safety plans and quality/environmental standards.
* Manage programme, budget and commercial performance.
* Work closely with site teams and commercial staff to ensure tender allowances are maintained.
* Monitor progress and performance, identifying and managing change effectively.
* Produce accurate progress reports for the Contracts Manager.
* Maintain robust site records and support change assessments.
* Build positive working relationships with clients, designers, subcontractors and internal teams.
About You
You’ll bring proven experience as a Site Agent or Senior Site Agent within rail or civil engineering, ideally with exposure to station or rail infrastructure projects.
Essential
* SMSTS
* PTS
* Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent technical experience)
* Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
* Experience managing multi‑disciplinary civil engineering projects in a contracting environment
* Full UK Driving license
