We are a well-established busy, dynamic Chemotherapy Unit with a highly motivated and supportive team. We are looking for someone to join the team as a Band 2 Ward Clerk. We specialise in a wide variety of Chemotherapy treatments across both our Carlisle and Whitehaven sites. Due to our growing service we now need administrative support in our Carlisle Site.

Main Duties of the Job
This is a key role within the team involving all aspects of administrative work from reception/telephone duties to preparation of patient documentation for admission, ensuring the smooth running of the service.
As a valued member of the team, you will benefit from working in a supportive environment, attending regular staff meetings. You will have opportunities for in-house and trust training to help with your role.
* Provide and maintain efficient and effective administrative support and communications to the Ward Sister / Charge Nurse and multidisciplinary team.
* Contribute to the delivery of a consistently high standard of patient care as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
* Ensure electronic notes, investigations, and patient documents/results are available for new admissions and treatment appointments.
* Ensure that patient documents are correctly maintained following departmental guidelines, and that patient record systems are up to date and accurate.

Job Responsibilities
* Perform a variety of clerical duties within a team providing efficient and effective support to the clinical and admin teams in Chemotherapy.

Person Specification
Essential
* English and Maths GCSE grade 9‑4 (A‑C) or equivalent level of qualification.
* Knowledge of office procedures.
* Good communication skills.
* Typing/keyboard skills.
Desirable
* Knowledge of medical terminology.
* Experience in a health‑related discipline.
