Head of AI
Location: UK - Remote
Salary: up to £120k with up to 20% bonus and revenue share benefit
About the Role
Our client is undergoing a major transformation across a group of seven businesses. They are now hiring a Head of AI to lead the shift toward becoming fully AI‑native, agent‑driven organisations.
This is a rare opportunity to design, develop and deliver an AI operating model at portfolio scale, embedding AI across products, operations, engineering and commercial functions.
You are currently at a Technical Architect or Technical Lead level that has build AI Agents across businesses you have worked in within the tech stack stated below.
What You'll Do
1. Build a shared AI operating layer used across all portfolio companies
2. (AI tooling, agent orchestration, RAG pipelines, governance, security)
3. Lead the rollout of agentic workflows in customer support, engineering, finance, product and revenue operations
4. Implement an AI‑enabled software development lifecycle
5. (AI coding assistants, automated QA, accelerated Jira‑to‑production workflows)
6. Upskill engineering teams in LLM integration, agent design, RAG, AI architecture and prompt engineering
7. Identify and launch new AI product opportunities once transformation milestones are met
8. Establish portfolio‑wide AI governance, ensuring responsible, secure and cost‑efficient AI adoption

11. Productivity uplift across teams through AI augmentation
12. New AI‑driven product revenue streams established

About You
We're looking for a senior AI leader with experience driving large‑scale or multi‑organisation AI transformation.
Ideal candidates will have:
14. Deep experience building LLM‑based systems and AI agents
15. Strong knowledge of RAG, vector databases and orchestration frameworks
16. Experience delivering AI‑enabled software development workflows
17. Ability to influence and upskill engineering and product teams at scale
18. Background designing agentic systems that automate complex processes
Technical Experience (Highly Valuable)
19. Agent orchestration frameworks (., LangGraph, Agents SDK)
20. Retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG)
21. Cloud‑native and distributed system architecture
22. Vector databases and knowledge systems
23. Event‑driven and real‑time data pipelines
