Run by husband and wife team Charlie and Abbi, we have built a loyal community of customers who come not only for great coffee but also for conversation and connection. Frequently described as “the best coffee in Borehamwood,” we pride ourselves on serving specialty coffee the way it should be: simple, high‑quality, and true to the roaster’s vision. We work with Origin Coffee and serve carefully prepared espresso drinks alongside homemade treats baked by Abbi.
With a second location opening this April and further expansion planned for 2026, we are looking for an experienced barista with leadership potential to join our team as a manager and grow with the company as it expands. If you’re currently a barista with past experience who wants to help shape a young specialty coffee brand, this could be the perfect opportunity.

You’ll play an important role in maintaining our quality standards, supporting daily operations, and helping shape the culture of a growing company. Your responsibilities will include:
* Preparing specialty‑grade espresso drinks and teas
* Delivering exceptional customer service
* Building strong relationships with our regular customers
* Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and workflow
* Supporting daily operations of the coffee truck
* Helping maintain quality and consistency in a high‑volume environment
* Contributing ideas as the business grows
As a small business, initiative and ownership are essential. You’ll be trusted to think independently, problem‑solve, and make decisions when needed.
The Environment
Roaming Roast operates from a mobile specialty coffee truck, meaning we work outdoors in all seasons.
We have rain cover and good equipment, but you’ll need to enjoy being outside and embracing the elements. Our customers also love the atmosphere and community we’ve built.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who already has strong coffee experience and is ready to take the next step in their career. Ideal candidates will have:
* Minimum 1 year specialty coffee barista experience
* Experience working in high‑volume coffee environments
* Strong customer service, interpersonal skills and excellent communication
* Attention to detail and consistency
* Reliability and strong timekeeping
* The ability to work independently and make decisions
* A positive, adaptable mindset
Practical Details
* 40 hours per week (part time considered)
* Based in Borehamwood, South Hertfordshire
* Start time: 7am
* Reliable commute required
* Right to work in the UK required
