The Role :
* Preparing, operating, and maintaining test equipment, fixtures, environmental chambers etc
* Ensuring that materials and components are installed into test equipment as required by company policy and health & safety protocols
* Supporting the safe execution of customer-specific tests
* Perform routine tests eg performance, cycles, swelling etc
* Monitor test equipment and software during operation to ensure proper cycling and data logging.
* Ensure that any faults are identified quickly
* Provide data for review by engineers or customers
* Maintain data logs ensuring accuracy of information
* Support the calibration and maintenance of test equipment and lab infrastructure.
* Maintain lab cleanliness and ensure tools, cables, and fixtures are in proper working condition.
* Manage inventory of test consumables such as connectors, labels, insulators, and PPE.
* Ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements
* Maintain customer confidentiality at all times
About You :
* Qualified to HNC level or higher in an engineering subject (mechanical, electrical, automotive)
* Experience in an engineering environment, ideally working in testing & development
* Familiarity with industry standard battery testing equipment (e.g., Keysight)
* Basic understanding of electrical circuits, wiring, and data acquisition
* Experience in a lab environment or test facility with structured safety procedures
* Familiarity with test scripting tools or ability to follow detailed engineering instructions
* Knowledge of test documentation standards and basic data recording/reporting
* Strong attention to detail and methodical approach.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
* Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as ISO, SAE and UN guidelines.
