Employer’s Agent (Cambridge) (JPC-86)
Salary: £40,000–£55,000
Location: Cambridge (with regional travel)
Overview
We are looking for an Employer’s Agent to lead projects from inception to completion, working across residential, regeneration, mixed-use and public-sector schemes. You will oversee pre- and post-contract activities, manage stakeholders and ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Contract Duties
* Manage pre-contract investigations, due diligence and consultant coordination
* Chair and minute pre-contract meetings
* Prepare Employer’s Requirements, performance specifications, design reviews and JCT Build Agreements
* Lead tendering processes (single- and two-stage)
* Produce tender reports, VFM assessments, and maintain risk registers
Post-Contract Duties
* Coordinate overall project delivery through construction
* Chair and minute progress meetings
* Carry out site inspections, reporting on progress and defects
* Issue instructions, certificates and notices
* Assess contractor applications and advise on cashflow
* Oversee snagging, handover and defects inspections
* Prepare and negotiate final accounts
Client & Stakeholder Management
* Liaise effectively with Housing Associations, Developers, Local Authorities, Contractors, Employers’ Agents and Consultants
* Understand varying client requirements and contractual obligations
* Report monthly on fee projections and financial performance
Experience & Qualifications
* Degree in Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Project Management or similar
* 2–5 years’ EA / project delivery experience
* Strong knowledge of JCT Contracts and Development Agreements
* Experience across residential, refurbishment, regeneration or remediation projects
* BIM/Collaborative Data Environment exposure (desirable)
* Full UK driving licence
