In this role, you will work as part of a diverse team, providing health and safety support and guidance, and monitoring health and safety performance across all areas of the business.
What you'll do
1. Undertake programmed visits to operational sites, offices, and depots as per schedule to support and guide staff, including local management teams.
2. Conduct regular reviews of site, office, and depot performance regarding health and safety standards, legal compliance, and inspections or audits.
3. Support and lead incident investigations, understand causation, develop practical solutions, escalate incidents to senior management, and share learnings across the UK YTL organization.
4. Assist in planning and developing 'Make it Right' and other health and safety initiatives, including safety standdown sessions.
5. Attend meetings and safety improvement events with local management as needed.
6. Prepare reports following site visits, inspections, audits, MIR tours, and investigations.
7. Promote reporting of observations by employees and contractors.
8. Collaborate with team members to ensure shared learning and consistent application of best practices.
9. Support the business by producing reports, alerts, and updating processes.
10. Stay updated on health and safety training, best practices, and legal requirements to help the business lead in safety performance.
Qualifications:
* NEBOSH or equivalent certification
* Awareness of Lower Tier COMAH requirements
* Knowledge of health and safety legal requirements and practical application
* Experience advising in multi-site environments, including 24/7 operations
* Competency in incident investigation
* Ability to influence and promote a positive safety culture
* Conflict management skills
* Team player with strong relationship-building skills
* Self-motivated and organized with good planning skills
* Proficient IT and report writing skills
* Professional communication skills
