The Role
Pacific Life Re (PLRe) are embarking on a security uplift programme with our Insur-Tech UnderwriteMe (UMe). We therefore require an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead on this programme. As a Senior IT Project Manager, you will lead the security uplift programme for UMe liaising with senior stakeholders across UMe, Pacific Life Re (PL Re) and Pacific Life (PL) providing the planning, management, oversight and communication. The primary focus for this role will be supporting the Security uplift focusing on Desktop and workplace technologies followed by cloud security. This comprises of Identity and Access management, Platform and Endpoint security, Information protection and IT Asset management. To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong background in project management, along with a good understanding of IT security, Identity Management, Microsoft 365 tenants, Laptop and Device Management and Cloud Security. You will have a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget, ensuring planning, management, oversight and communications are in line with PL Re’s expectations. You will work alongside our broad and multi-location Business and Technology Delivery teams including Operational Risk & Resilience (OR&R), IT and Platform Engineering, Security, Infrastructure, Data, Enterprise Architecture and other appropriate teams to develop, align and manage the project plan and timelines.
Key Duties
* Responsible for the successful completion of the Security uplift programme for UMe including laptop and device management and cloud Security.
* Partner with project sponsors & stakeholders to define project scope, priorities, timelines, milestones, deadlines, plans, RAID, resource plans and deliverable schedules.
* Working with UMe Engineering, OR&R, Support Services and Cloud teams across UMe, PL Re and PL to ensure alignment and on time delivery to objectives.
* Anticipate issues and delays to the project and evaluate trade-offs between project size, complexity, cost, risk, etc., effectively assessing and mitigating all project risks.
* Work with various teams to develop activities and assign to resources, supervise work and ensure adherence to established quality and risk management standards and methodologies. Escalating issues as appropriate along with proposals for resolution.
* Facilitate discussions and consensus among various project stakeholders, including the facilitation of the Project Steering Committee.
* Coordinating work within the team. Eliciting clear progress updates with transparency and realism regarding risks and issues. Monitoring and reporting on project status.
* Manages and monitors the project budget and expenditures.
* Ensures the project adheres to the business’ standards for project methodology, governance, reporting and risk management.
Qualifications, Expertise and Attributes
* Essential experience and proven track record of delivering IT projects including IT Security within medium to large organisations.
* Proven and demonstrable experience as a Senior Project Manager in complex IT Service Management / Technology environments.
* Comfortable working in Waterfall, Agile & Hybrid styles, demonstrating an ability to select the best approaches for the tasks and challenges at hand.
* Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
* Data & analytical expertise, ability to elicit and agree requirements across a broad a diverse group of stakeholders.
* Expert planning, control and monitoring skills.
* Solid understanding of the importance of and adherence to Technology Risk Management standards and security.
* Proven communication skills with the gravitas to interact at Executive and Senior Leadership levels.
* Significant experience in people management and matrix team leadership.
* Extensive experience managing and partnering with multiple 3rd party vendors.
* Strong understanding of project and programme methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, APM).
* Project and Programme Management experience of at least 10 years.
* Knowledge and experience of using PPM solutions, Jira / Atlassian & MS 365 an advantage.

* Protection Platform - a B2B2C marketplace used by over 15,000 advisors to power quoting and purchase of protection products in the UK. We currently deliver 16% of the UK markets protection policies and we are already working to increase our reach.
