Teaching Personnel are seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in the Ryde area. This full-time position is perfect for those looking to gain valuable classroom experience or explore a potential career in teaching.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll supervise classes of students aged 11–16 in the absence of the class teacher. Your role will be to ensure pupils stay engaged with pre-prepared lesson materials and maintain a calm, focused learning environment across a range of subjects. You may also provide some support to students with special educational needs (SEN).
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver and oversee pre-set lessons across a variety of subjects for pupils aged 11–16.
* Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
* Encourage and maintain pupil focus and participation.
* Offer appropriate support to SEN pupils when required.
* Report back to teaching staff on pupil progress and classroom conduct.
Who We’re Looking For:
* Experience working with secondary-aged pupils is desirable, particularly in supporting SEN students.
* Confident classroom presence and the ability to adapt to different situations.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A positive attitude and enthusiasm for supporting young people in their education.
