Overview
Salary: Grade 6 - £24,020 - £27,712 (Actual Salary). Hours: 37 hours per week, Term Time (39 weeks). Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 4.30pm and Friday 8.30am - 4pm. Contract type: Permanent. Reporting to: Assistant Headteacher responsible for pastoral care. Responsible for: Main purpose of the ASPIRE Centre Manager role is to support vulnerable students and lead the ASPIRE Centre within the pastoral care framework.
Responsibilities
* Support vulnerable and at‑risk students by assessing barriers to learning, providing an alternative space and curriculum, and devising strategies with measurable impact on students’ progress and access to education. Contribute to strategy and leadership across the pastoral team and support the aims and values of the pastoral offer.
* Manage the onsite ASPIRE Centre, a small detached classroom base for students who struggle in the main school setting. Deliver aspects of the curriculum, lead a team of mentors, oversee the ASPIRE interventions programme, assess student needs, plan intervention programmes, and oversee intervention timetables for ASPIRE mentors and associate heads of year.
Leadership
* Coach and manage ASPIRE mentors, ensuring quality interventions are delivered. Assess student needs and plan appropriate intervention programmes. Utilise school systems and engage with phase leaders, heads of year, associate heads of year and mentors.
* Communicate with the wider school about students and their needs; influence practice and provide support and training for staff working with these students. Manage the ASPIRE Centre daily (including the RESET room and ASPIRE room) and deliver interventions as required within the ASPIRE timetable. Link with external agencies to review the quality of their provision, attendance and engagement.
