The Role - Trainer & Assessor in Civil Engineering
As a Trainer & Assessor in Civil Engineering, you will manage a caseload of apprentices, guiding them through their learning journey and preparing them for successful completion of their programmes. Acting as the key link between learners, the College and employers, you’ll provide high-quality training, coaching and assessment while ensuring compliance with apprenticeship standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Conducting regular learner reviews and providing constructive feedback
2. Supporting the development of learner portfolios and preparing apprentices for End Point Assessment (EPA)
3. Working closely with employers to create relevant, work-based training opportunities
4. Tracking and documenting progress in line with quality assurance and awarding body requirements
5. Delivering tailored training that supports learners’ professional and personal development
6. Promoting the College’s values and high standards of teaching, learning and assessment
Please note: A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use is required.
What We’re Looking For - Trainer & Assessor in Civil Engineering
7. Relevant Civil Engineering qualification and industry experience (essential)
8. A Level 3 vocational qualification in a related field
9. Level 3 TAQA or equivalent (or willingness to work towards)
10. Level 3 Internal Quality Assurance qualification (desirable)
11. Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
12. Passion for training, mentoring and supporting learner achievement
13. Knowledge of apprenticeship standards and EPA processes
