We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Systems Engineer to join our engineering team focused on Flight Simulation Systems. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the development and lifecycle management of complex aerospace simulation systems, including pilot training devices and simulation software. This role demands a deep understanding of system requirements management, system design, architecture definition, system analysis, and the entire systems development lifecycle (SDLC) in an aerospace or high-fidelity simulation environment. Maintain traceability of requirements throughout the SDLC using tools such as DOORS, Jama, or similar platforms. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. System Design & Architecture: Develop high-level and detailed system designs and architectures for flight simulation systems, including hardware, software, and network components. Define system interfaces and ensure interoperability between subsystems and third-party components. Create and manage system models using tools like SysML/UML or Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) frameworks. System Analysis: Perform functional and performance analysis of simulation systems, identifying potential design risks and mitigation strategies. Conduct trade studies to evaluate design options against performance, cost, and schedule constraints. Use analytical tools and simulations to verify system behaviors and performance predictions. Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC): Lead or participate in all phases of the SDLC—from concept, requirements, design, implementation, integration, verification/validation, and deployment. Support integration and test teams by defining verification and validation plans and criteria. Participate in technical reviews and audits (PDR, CDR, TRR, etc.) and contribute to configuration management and change control processes. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Technical Skills Experience in systems engineering within the aerospace or flight simulation industry. Proven experience in managing requirements and system design for complex, real-time systems. Familiarity with DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, or equivalent aerospace standards is highly desirable. Experience with system engineering tools (e.g., IBM DOORS, Cameo Systems Modeler, MATLAB/Simulink). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Desirable Experience with flight simulation systems such as FFS (Full Flight Simulators), FTD (Flight Training Devices), or other man-in-the-loop simulation environments. Certification or training in INCOSE Systems Engineering practices. Exposure to agile or hybrid development methodologies. Additional Considerations May require occasional travel to customer sites or test facilities. Office-based with lab and simulator facility interaction.
