Pharmacist/Leicester/Oadby/Bank Ad-Hoc Shifts

Spire Leicester Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacist to join the Bank Team

Duties and responsibilities:

To provide an exemplary pharmacy service in accordance with current legislation, accepted professional and ethical standards and clinical requirements.

To provide advice and support to consultants, other clinicians and patients ensuring the safe, appropriate and cost effective use of medicines.

To advise the hospital and its departments on the safe management of medicines, ensuring compliance with current legislation and professional standards.

To promote a multidisciplinary, patient focused approach to the delivery of an efficient, high quality healthcare service.

1. Plan, deliver and evaluate pharmaceutical care to meet patient’s health and well being.
2. Assess the health and well being of patients whose needs may be complex and changing within the context of their medicines.
3. Plan, monitor and evaluate the movement of medicines.
4. Establish and maintain effective communication with various individuals and groups on complex, sensitive and occasionally contentious issues in a range of situations.
5. Lead others in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practices.
6. Modify and structure data, information, computer records and stock management documents.
7. Develop own knowledge and skills and contribute to the development of others.
8. Contribute to the development of services.
9. Assist with research and development.
10. Promote best practice in health and safety and security.
11. Contribute to quality improvement.
12. Promote people’s equality, diversity and rights

Who we're looking for:

13. Master’s degree in pharmacy, or equivalent at time of qualification.
14. Experience of applying clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient requirements.
15. Worked in a pharmacy
16. Previous experience as a pharmacist
17. Experience of working in partnership with consultants and across clinical teams.
18. Willing to participate in flexible working pattern
19. Empathy for vulnerable and sick patients
20. Empathy for principles and importance of EO and dignity at work
