About the role

The Project Management Group provides a professional service that combines management of strategically important projects across diverse funding channels with customer-focused business partnering to support PM practitioners across the business. The main purpose of this role is to support accountable project owners with the delivery of strategically important projects by providing access to professional PM expertise. This may include fixed- and moving-goal projects across the NOC’s marine science, research infrastructure, commercial and corporate infrastructure portfolio. Members of the PM Group contribute to NOC’s community of professional practice by maintaining awareness of current best practice and trends in PM and sharing knowledge with other PM practitioners. This role has a specific focus on supporting staff with tools and skills for moving-goal projects, particularly those in scientific and technological development, including application of Agile methodologies.


About you

We are seeking a project management professional who has experience applying both waterfall and Agile PM methodologies across a variety of projects from differing funding channels. Ideally, you will have experience and a strong understanding of diverse funding environments. You will be a confident communicator who can work collaboratively with engineers, scientists, corporate staff and senior stakeholders to enable project delivery. You will be an effective team player who can provide a customer-focused business partnering service for project management and demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development and best practice PM.


Responsibilities

* Provide professional project management support to accountable project owners across scientific, technological development and infrastructure portfolios.
* Apply both waterfall and Agile PM methodologies where appropriate to deliver projects across diverse funding channels.
* Collaborate with engineers, scientists and senior stakeholders to enable project delivery and align with organisational objectives.
* Share knowledge and contribute to the PM community of practice within NOC.

* Experience applying waterfall and Agile PM methods across varied projects and funding environments.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
* Commitment to continued professional development and application of best practice PM.

Location

This position will be based in Southampton. The centre is well connected by public transport with ample cycle parking and free onsite car-parking with over 40 EV charging points. We have a hybrid working approach; most positions allow up to 2 days per week remote working.
