Overview
The Community Staff Nurse is responsible for the delivery of prescribed nursing care to patients on a day-to-day basis. This includes holistic assessment of patient care needs and the development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based care. The post holder will be autonomous in their clinical practice while acknowledging their limitations and actively seek advice as necessary.
Main duties
We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic individuals to join the Llandrindod Wells District Nursing Team. We welcome new registrants and experienced staff who share our values and want to consolidate new skills within a supportive preceptorship program. The role requires caring, compassionate communication and a commitment to the highest standard of patient care. Permanent roles are available on a full-time or part-time basis. Qualifications
* NMC registered
Essential skills and experience
* Experience in a wide range of clinical skills in community nursing
* Standard ICT skills
Desirable
* Two or more diploma modules relevant to Community Nursing
* District Nursing Diploma/Certificate or working towards
* Nurse prescriber or working towards
* Palliative care, wound management, chronic disease management, venepuncture, ECG, IV therapy, resuscitation (BLS), catheterisation, leg ulcer doppler/assessment, bowel management, central line management
* Ability to manage a caseload and prioritise workload
* Welsh language skills (desirable)
Experience
* Essential: Experience in a wide range of clinical skills in community nursing
* Desirable: Community nursing experience and knowledge of care pathways and current healthcare policies in a community setting
