Description

Are you passionate about the legal field and ready to make a difference? Join our dynamic team as a Paralegal and play a key role supporting the team. As a Paralegal you will undertake a variety of data gathering and information recording activities, on behalf of a File Handler, to facilitate the rapid settlement of cases and the closure of files.

Key Accountabilities

* Acknowledging instructions, initially liaising with clients and other parties.
* Drafting appropriate documentation including Court documents.
* Serving appropriate documentation upon any third parties where applicable.
* Liaise with the Insurer client regarding liability and chase accordingly to expedite settlement or repudiation.
* Obtain additional information and/or documentation from the insurer client and/or third parties to facilitate File Handler negotiations.
* Follow up on outstanding instructions and other actions to ensure that responses are received within required timescales.
* Obtaining additional information and/or documentation as required from parties.
* To provide general assistance and ad hoc duties to support the File Handler as and when required.
* To ensure all case management and matter information is inputted on to the system in a timely and accurate manner to ensure completeness of records and to ensure accurate reporting of information to our clients.
* To update the case management system to diarise Court directions in a timely manner
* Diarising & updating CRU
* To ensure compliance with the SRA standards and regulations

Working Hours

35 hours per week

Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch. This is a hybrid role working 1 day in the office and 4 days from home.


Experience, Skills and Qualifications

* Strong organisational skills, together with the ability to prioritise their workload.
* Able to effectively work to set deadlines.
* Following a semi-prescribed programme of work.
* Dealing with calls and enquiries from customers, suppliers and/or the public.
* Gathering and recording information.
* IT Literate.
* Proficient in MS Office (notably Excel, Word and Outlook)
* Experience of using a Claims/Case Management system.
* Proficient in the use of alpha numerical filing systems.
* GCSE grade A-C in Maths and English.
