About Us Pharmacare4U Ltd, is an independent community pharmacy providing a full range of NHS and private healthcare services, including prescription dispensing, flu and COVID-19 vaccinations, blood pressure checks, smoking cessation, contraception, and travel health services. We are one of the busiest independent pharmacies in the North East, serving a diverse local population with fewer than 20 dedicated staff. As our services and operations continue to expand, we have an urgent requirement for experienced procurement expertise to ensure supply chain resilience, cost-effective purchasing, and long-term operational efficiency. Main Duties & Responsibilities Lead procurement of pharmaceutical products, healthcare equipment, and related inventory. Develop purchasing strategies incorporating supplier networks and cost optimisation principles. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms with suppliers. Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with UK healthcare regulations. Oversee procurement across local and global supply chains, applying project management methodologies. Prepare and analyse procurement reports, tenders, and supplier performance assessments. Implement supplier risk management processes and maintain accurate procurement records. Mentor junior procurement staff and promote procurement best practices. Collaborate with finance and operations teams to align procurement activities with budgets and organisational goals. Set and monitor key procurement KPIs to ensure continuous improvement and value for money. Requirements Masters degree (RQF Level 7) in Business, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, or a related field. Minimum 5 years procurement experience in multiple sectors. Strong negotiation and time management skills. Demonstrable experience in regulated industries (healthcare experience desirable). Excellent communication skills for liaising with domestic and overseas suppliers. Proficiency in procurement software, project management tools, and MS Office. Proven track record of leading end-to-end procurement strategy, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and performance management. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex procurement data to support strategic decisions. Experience managing multi-million-pound procurement budgets and delivering measurable cost savings. A clear enhanced DBS check will be required before appointment. Willingness to undertake pharmacy related qualifications to support wider pharmacy operations. Schedule & Additional Details Day shift, Monday to Friday. On-site role, no remote option. Must be able to reliably commute/relocate to Newcastle, NE13 9BH before starting work.
