Job Role: Apprentice Associate Practice Manager
Location: Ipswich, Suffolk
Reports to: Practice Manager / Business Manager / Principal Dentist
Contract Type: Apprenticeship (typically 18–24 months)
Salary: In line with apprenticeship wage regulations
Job Purpose:
To support the effective management and day-to-day operations of a healthcare or dental practice while undertaking a formal apprenticeship training programme. This role provides hands-on experience in administration, compliance, team coordination, and patient service, with the goal of developing into a confident and capable practice leader.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Administrative & Operational Support
* Assist the Practice Manager in overseeing daily practice operations.
* Maintain appointment systems, patient records, and correspondence.
* Support staff rotas, meetings, and practice communications.
2. Compliance & Governance
* Learn and support regulatory requirements such as CQC (Care Quality Commission) and GDC (General Dental Council) standards.
* Help maintain accurate logs, risk assessments, audits, and incident reports.
* Ensure policies and procedures are followed across the practice.
3. Patient Experience
* Welcome and assist patients, ensuring excellent customer service.
* Respond to queries, feedback, and complaints under supervision.
* Support patient recalls, surveys, and experience improvement plans.
4. Financial & Resource Management
* Assist with stock control, supplier liaison, and basic budgeting tasks.
* Support invoicing, petty cash, and NHS/private income processing.
* Learn to monitor and report on KPIs and financial performance indicators.
5. HR & Team Coordination
* Support new staff onboarding, training, and rota planning.
* Maintain accurate HR records and staff files.
* Promote teamwork and a positive workplace culture.
6. Learning & Development
* Attend and complete all required training through your apprenticeship provider.
* Apply learning to practical work in the practice environment.
* Seek feedback and take responsibility for your personal development.

Qualifications & Entry Requirements:
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or willingness to complete Functional Skills)
* Must meet apprenticeship eligibility requirements
* Interest in healthcare, administration, or leadership is desirable
Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship
Pay: £7.55-£7.60 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
