Overview
We are seeking a Personal Development Mentor to join our Post-16 SEN Education & Training Provision in Tonbridge. This role is 4 mornings per week, term-time only, and would suit someone who has experience of working with this age group, who is well-organised and has a demonstrably good working knowledge of how SEND affects young people. The role involves working with small groups of young people aged 16 – 19 years, teaching them about subjects and skills that will help prepare them for adulthood. This is a very rewarding role, which is part of a very friendly and supportive team.
Responsibilities
* Work with small groups of young people aged 16–19 to teach subjects and life skills that prepare them for adulthood.
* Collaborate with a supportive team in a community-based provision.
* Deliver programmes that align with SEND requirements and individual development plans.
* Contribute to a positive learning environment and track progress for learners.
Qualifications
* Experience working with young people aged 16–19, preferably with SEND.
* Strong organisation skills and ability to work independently within a team.
* Understanding of SEND and its impact on learning and progression.
