Duties:
* Month-End Close Ownership: Lead the preparation and review of the month-end close process, including: Revenue Recognition in line with applicable accounting standards, Accrued Liabilities and Prepaid Expenses, Lease accounting and Fixed Asset depreciation, Bank reconciliations, Payroll posting and reconciliation
* Balance Sheet Reconciliations:Perform timely and accurate reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
* Journal Entry Processing:Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger.
* Cashflow Management:Monitor and manage the company's cash flow, including forecasting, budgeting, and optimising cash utilisation.
* Financial Audit Support:Act as a key contact for external auditors, preparing required schedules, supporting documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
* Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Management:Oversee the efficient processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments to suppliers and collections from customers.
* Monthly Financial Reporting and Variance Analysis:Prepare and present detailed monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets. Conduct thorough variance analysis to explain deviations from budget and forecast.
* Management Accounts Preparation:Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, providing insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
* Cashflow Reporting:Prepare regular cashflow forecasts and provide ongoing analysis to inform decision-making.
* Business Partnering:Build strong working relationships with other departments to support budget management, forecasting and strategic planning.
* Process Implementation & Review:Drive improvements to existing finance processes, systems and internal controls.
* Ad-hoc Support:Provide analytical support and insights for ad-hoc projects and requests from the Financial Controller and VP of Finance, aligned with the needs of the business.
Qualifications & Additional Exposure:
* Fully qualified accountant ACA or ACCA
* Demonstrated experience in a finance role with ownership of core accounting processes, particularly month-end close.
* Strong technical accounting knowledge, including accruals, prepayments, and revenue recognition.
* Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment both independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with stakeholders across the business.
* Strong attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
Desirable Criteria:
* Audit background
* Prior experience in healthcare, tech, or SaaS environments.
* Experience working within or interacting with the NHS.
* Familiarity with NetSuite (ERP) or similar systems.
* Exposure to intercompany accounting and consolidations
