Care Assistant – Nights
Location – Lofthouse Grange and Lodge Care Home, 340 Leeds Road, Lofthouse, Wakefield, WF3 3QQ
We are looking for Care Assistants to join Orchard Care Homes. We value our Care Assistants and invest in their career within our homes. This position offers nights with a pay of £12.21 - £12.46 per hour. Closing Date: 30 September 2025. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

The role of a Care Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the people living within Orchard homes. We ensure everyone is cared for with dignity and respect and engaged in how they receive support from our staff. You will help residents engage in meaningful activities and receive the best support in line with their individual needs.

Main Duties
* To enable people to remain as independent as possible whilst providing support and assistance as per the individual’s needs. This includes delivering personal care such as washing, dressing, and oral care.
* Be understanding and patient towards everyone and their needs, encourage and support participation in leisure activities, and assist with social and emotional needs. This may include supporting individuals to attend outside appointments and leisure outings.
* Responsible for making and changing beds, tidying rooms, undertaking light cleaning duties, and assisting in keeping the home clean, pleasant and welcoming.
* Help to serve meals and drinks at mealtimes, presenting meals in an attractive way and providing appropriate support at meals.
* Understand and comply with statutory and legal requirements relevant to the role (Health & Safety, COSHH, Care Standards Act). Maintain Infection Prevention and Control policies to keep the home safe.
* Ensure written or verbal communications regarding activities in the home remain factual and evidence-based; engage with internal and external inspections, audits, and regulatory visits.
