Position Overview
This is a 36‑hour per week community nursing post based in East Lochaber, Scotland. The role is suitable for newly qualified nurses or experienced community nurses with previous community experience. The nurse will cover a wide geographical area, including both urban and rural communities, and may also work with other community nursing teams throughout Lochaber.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide community nursing care to patients across a broad area, delivering health and social services as required.
* Work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and strong communication skills.
* Travel efficiently and effectively across Lochaber using a personal vehicle; a current driving licence and use of a pool car are essential.
* Commit to weekend work and on‑call duties to support palliative care services.
* Maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to NHS Scotland standards of care.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Registered nurse with post‑registration experience preferred but not essential.
* Sound knowledge of clinical skills relevant to community nursing.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Valid driver’s licence and routine driving across the service area.
Additional Information
* Effective from 1 April 2026 the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours; part‑time hours will be adjusted pro‑rata, with a corresponding increase in hourly rate to keep pay unchanged.
