Purpose of the Role
To plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching that meets the diverse needs of pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
The Teacher will model professional integrity and the EPIC values, work collaboratively within the school community, and adhere strictly to the Staff Code of Conduct to promote a safe, respectful, and nurturing learning environment.
About
We are an Outstanding Independent SEN School with two locations. Our KS3 students are based at our South Birmingham site (B38), while KS4 and KS5 students attend our college site in North Worcestershire (B60).
We cater to students aged 11-19 with special educational needs, primarily related to Autism.
Our school provides a safe, low-sensory environment alongside an ambitious curriculum that includes a range of GCSEs and enrichment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging, evidence-informed lessons that meet the
individual needs of pupils, including those with SEND and trauma histories.

Use assessment data to monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.

Promote pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development through trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches.

Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning, consistent with the school’s behaviour policy and Staff Code of Conduct.

Collaborate with teaching assistants and specialist staff to provide effective support
Requirements
* Proven experience teaching pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviour
* Strong understanding of curriculum, assessment, and behaviour management in special education settings.
* QTS/QTLS qualification
* Commitment to professional conduct, safeguarding, and the Staff Code of Conduct.
* Ability to plan, deliver, and assess effective teaching and learning
* Resilience, empathy, adaptability, and passion for supporting vulnerable pupils
