Salary: Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 an hour; this increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
Hours: It’s our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week; if you’d like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too.
Availability: The periods of time in the week we’d like you to be available to work are the availability windows. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times, and you’ll have 3 weeks’ notice of exactly when your shifts will be. We support flexibility, so if your availability matches closely but not exactly to the times advertised, we’d still love to hear from you.

Role overview: As the face of Tesco on the road, we deliver from Lands’ End to John O’Groats. Our Customer Delivery Drivers meet customers in their homes daily. This role is about delivering great service with a smile, not just driving. It is hands-on, physical and varied. You’ll feel like your own boss during many shifts, with a team of Managers and colleagues backing you up.
It’s hands-on, physical and full of variety. No two shifts are the same and customers seek help in many ways. You’ll be delivering to customers with support from a store team when needed.

About the role
Availability Window (example):
* Sun: 09:00–19:00
* Thu: 14:00–23:00
* Fri: 13:00–23:00
* Sat: 09:00–13:00
You will be responsible for:
* Delivering your part of the customer shopping trip by keeping the van and trays clean and tidy
* Leaving the back yard clean and picking up litter as needed
* Ensuring trays are washed as part of the tray wash process
* Loading the van and checking the van for roadworthiness
* Talking to the customer about order changes, substitutions, and refunds as needed
* Taking care of products/deliveries as if they were your own
* Explaining substitutions and ensuring customers are not charged more than agreed
* Delivering during the customer’s time slot
* Calling the customer before arriving if early
* Calling the store if running 30 minutes or more late
You will need:
* Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit
* Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues
* Respond quickly to changing customer needs and embrace change
* Be energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations
* Share ideas with your Manager and colleagues on store improvements
* A valid UK/EU/EEA Driving licence (Full or Automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points
