HEAD CHEF – ICONIC NORTH LONDON DELICATESSEN A renowned neighbourhood institution with years of heritage is looking for a Head Chef to lead its busy, multi-outlet kitchen operation in St John’s Wood. This is a hands-on, full-time position overseeing deli counter production, ready-to-eat meals, breakfast/lunch service, and dining terrace output. The food offering is rooted in seasonality, Jewish and Eastern European classics, and top-quality produce — from schnitzel and chopped liver to soups, granola and picnic hampers. THE ROLE Lead a brigade of 4-6 Oversee all daily kitchen operations: service, prep, production Manage ordering, suppliers, food safety, H&S and EHO compliance Work closely with leadership on product development and seasonal planning Support expansion into future catering and external events Mostly day shifts – latest finish is 6:00 pm (occasional evenings only) 5 days a week Total team on site 65 (Retail / Warehouse / Sales / Hospitality) YOU’LL NEED Strong kitchen leadership experience Calm, focused management in high-volume environments A nose for quality produce and classic flavours A creative approach to modern deli and café food Proven systems knowledge (ordering, costings, compliance) Well established employer, many of the team have been here 10 years PACKAGE Salary: £50,000 Hours: 45 hours per week Closed evenings Opportunities to grow with a highly respected operator This is a rare opening in a business that’s a pillar of the community, combining tradition with a sharp eye on the future.
