Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to provide a high‑quality phlebotomy service to our patients.
Main Duties
* To collect blood samples from patients through venepuncture as requested by clinicians, GPs and other health professionals.
* To collect blood samples safely.
* To ensure blood samples are collected in appropriate containers, labelled correctly, and sent in a timely and correct manner.
* Desirable: Ability to perform stitch removals, dressing changes, INR checks and give various injections such as B12, flu, shingles, etc.

Beauchief Medical Practice is the new name of the formerly two well‑established GP practices in Sheffield (Abbey Lane Surgery and Totley Rise Medical Centre). We have a friendly team of 25 staff members.

Job Responsibilities
* Collect blood samples from patients through venepuncture as requested by GPs, clinicians and other health professionals.
* Collect blood samples safely.
* Produce accurate labelling on all sample containers using legible handwriting and ensure correct patient details.
* Ensure samples are collected in appropriate containers, labelled correctly and sent in a timely and correct manner.
* Demonstrate a courteous, sympathetic, compassionate and helpful approach to patients, relatives and visitors at all times.
* Understand and meet the needs of patients.
* Have undertaken a recognised assessor’s course for venepuncture.
Qualifications
* Essential: Recognised qualification in phlebotomy/venepuncture.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Previous use of SystemOne.
* Previous use of ICE request system.
* Previous experience working in primary care.
