Are you a Business Development Manager with experience in selling software solutions to the payroll and HR sector? If so, we have a great opportunity for you to join a prestigious global SaaS company and increase revenue targets. The role is hybrid, with a salary of £55k basic plus £35k OTE!
Our client is an international provider of software solutions that make life easier for schools and teachers. They focus on innovative, trusted education solutions built around teachers' and schools' needs.
They are seeking a talented Business Development Manager to grow SaaS revenues for their education-specific payroll and pensions platform. The role involves engaging with senior finance, HR, and operations decision-makers in schools and trusts, understanding their payroll challenges, and building relationships to secure new sales and increase revenue. Responsibilities include managing the full sales cycle, delivering product demonstrations, and achieving revenue targets.
You will primarily operate in a virtual, outbound sales environment, targeting large secondary schools and multi-academy trusts (MATs), positioning the payroll software as the solution for streamlining school payroll and pension administration.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities
* Meet and exceed sales targets and KPIs.
* Generate outbound leads through calls, emails, and outreach to build a sales pipeline.
* Identify opportunities within your account base and engage senior stakeholders.
* Deliver persuasive product demonstrations highlighting value and compliance benefits.
* Manage the sales cycle end-to-end using a structured, value-led approach.
* Maintain accurate forecasts and CRM records.
* Stay updated on payroll regulations, market trends, and competitor activity.
* Collaborate with other teams to identify cross-sell opportunities.
* Build strong relationships with key decision-makers at schools and trusts.
* Support team growth through sharing best practices.
Qualifications and Skills
* Proven success in outbound SaaS sales, preferably in education, HR, or finance sectors.
* Ability to exceed sales targets in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience engaging with senior decision-makers and managing complex deals.
* Strong understanding of payroll/pension challenges in education.
* Excellent communication and storytelling skills, especially during demos.
* Ability to influence C-level stakeholders.
* Highly organized with strong pipeline management skills.
