Role responsibilities
The Communications Business Partner will enable Transport for Wales to develop a successful, long-term, strategic relationship between directorates and the Communications and Engagement team to achieve shared organisational objectives.
1. Provide essential support to designated teams/directorates, undertaking tactical and strategic activities to ensure effective collaboration and co-ordination between the Communications and Engagement team and rest of the organisation.
2. Deliver high quality advice to various stakeholders by providing ‘real-time’ strategic insight to ensure communications project are on-brand, accurate and mitigate reputational impact.
3. Influencing the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) on communications and engagement strategies and operations, by providing expertise insight and robust business cases, to align the senior leadership with the recommendations agreed by the Head of Corporate Communications and ensuring it’s aligned to the overall TfW Communications and Engagement strategy
4. Lead the development of integrated communications plans and strategies, drawing on the various comms disciplines to provide a holistic communications support to various teams within TfW.
5. Be a key ambassador for TfW’s communications approach by leading our vision and values when delivering communications project work to ensure there’s a consistent standard, approach and messaging in TfW’s communications across the organisation.
6. Manage the Communications and Engagement Risk Register for the designated directorates, working closely with the Head of Corporate Communications to highlight potential issues for specific projects.
Who we’re looking for
7. Demonstrable experience of delivering an internal communications provision.
8. Experience of leading communications campaigns.
9. Experience of project managing events.
10. Degree qualified in a relevant area such as Communication or Marketing or have equivalent experience.
11. Experience of managing relationships with different stakeholders
12. Experience of project managing events.
13. Desirable experience of operating in a political environment.
14. Desirable experience of operating within a business partner model
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
