Do you have the resilience, patience, and creativity to help pupils thrive? GSL Education are looking to appoint a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to work in schools across Nottinghamshire. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who need extra guidance to manage their behaviour and engage positively in learning. This role involves building strong, trusting relationships, encouraging positive attitudes, and supporting classroom teachers to create a safe and inclusive environment where every child can succeed. Behaviour Support Assistant Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with behavioural needs. Encourage positive behaviour management strategies and help pupils develop self-regulation skills. Work alongside teachers to adapt lessons to suit individual needs. Support pupils both inside and outside the classroom, helping them to re-engage with learning. Act as a mentor, building confidence and resilience in pupils. Monitor and report on pupil progress and behaviour to teachers and senior staff. Requirements for Behaviour Support Assistant : CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance, or a relevant qualification. Previous experience in supporting children with behavioural needs or SEMH is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm, patient, and consistent when managing challenging behaviour. A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
